Sakalava Bay is more and more known for its superb kitesurf (and windsurf) spot. The climatic conditions (almost daily winds from mid-May to the end of October, in July/August it is almost 100% of days with more than 4 beauforts) are exceptional for the practice of this activity. The wind blows side on-shore on starboard: perfect to leave and bring the beginners back to the shore. Be careful, from January to April, most hotels and service providers are closed when there is no wind. Once almost deserted, the bay is slowly transforming, thanks to its success. More and more popular, it is now home to several hotels.
