A 4X4 vehicle is essential to reach the extreme northern tip of Madagascar. Crossing these vast arid spaces guarded by their splendid sentinels, the majestic baobabs, you'll need to allow for around 50 difficult kilometers to reach your destination (4 or 5 hours' journey). The easiest route (but a tough one) is via Namakia and Antsahampano. At Cape Town, an infinite view unfolds before you. You are 400 km from Dzaoudzi (Mayotte). On the way back to the Antsahampano junction, there are two escapades (still on difficult tracks) open to you: Windsor Castle and Baie du Courrier.
