Located at the confluence of the Matapedia and Restigouche rivers, this small community is well known to salmon fishermen, who gather here every year. Nature Aventure also has its base camp here, offering a host of outdoor activities during the summer months. For those who like to put on their hiking boots, the Sentier International des Appalaches (GR® A1) passes through Matapédia, not forgetting the Route des Belvédères, which currently includes two breathtaking lookout points in the region (more to come soon). For accommodation, we recommend Camping Parc Adams and Auberge Chez Casimir.
