Travel Guide Metis-Sur-Mer

Once a favorite destination of Montreal's English bourgeoisie, Métis-sur-Mer (population less than 600) was founded by Scots in the 19th century. It was called Petit-Métis until 1921, when it took on its current name, which was also that of its seigneury at the time. It is a member in good standing of the Association des plus beaux villages du Québec and has been awarded three Fleurons by the Fleurons du Québec association for its sustainable horticultural beautification.
