There is a lot of activity around the central market and the ceramic artisans. In Cañar you can buy a leather saddle, boots or cow's cheese. The small town of El Tambo, where you can admire amazingadobe and painted wood houses, is the access road to the ruins of Ingapirca.Throughout the region, one can see the Cañaris, recognizable by their very particular costume: the women wear very colorful stockings, skirts and kerchiefs, decorated with embroidered motifs; the men wear black trousers and an embroidered mini-poncho attached to the waist by a woven belt. All wear an amazing round beige felt hat without a brim.
