The valley of Orosi, whose bottom is drowned under a reservoir closed by the dam of Cachí, in the southeast of Cartago, is charming and allows to have an idea of the rural Costa Rica. The vegetation, dominated by the unmistakable green of the coffee trees, orders itself by dint of exuberance and variety in a real garden. The town of Paraíso, 8 km southeast of Cartago, is the gateway.
