In the heart of the Wienerwald, this village lives to the rhythm of the seasons and the vine, its main economic activity. The small cobbled streets, lined with little houses that look as if they've been painted in a Romantic style, are home to the twice-yearly wine festival: in June, in Neustiftgasse, and in August in Wiener Strasse. In a fair-like atmosphere, delicious grilled chicken is served, and the wine queen is crowned. Among the local wines, you'll find a few rarities in the whites, such as "Rotgipfler" or "Zierfandler", reminiscent of Riesling, as well as some excellent reds.
