Helfštýn is the site of one of the largest castles in the country. You can attend several festivities in this fortress during a few days at the end of August: workshops of period crafts, reenactments of battles and great competitions of master smiths. It is far from the Puy du Fou, of course, but the efforts are notable and allow to make a small trip in time towards the medieval ages with the Czech sauce. The superb architecture of the castle and the state of the walls make it even more attractive and immersive. Also a very nice craft market during the festival, not to be missed!
