Eight kilometers north of Kroměříž, take a trip to Chropyně, a small village established as early as the 13th century that shines with charm and authenticity. There's nothing special to do except enjoy the provincial atmosphere of the place, which still has a tall, elegant 17th-century castle, remodeled in the 18th century. The romantic furnishings include antique weapons and, above all, the works of Emil Filla, the famous Cubist painter who was born in the region. The town can be reached by bus from Brno or Zlin, but the easiest way to reach it is by road, car or bicycle from Kroměříž. A guaranteed immersion in a charming little village to explore.
