45 000 inhabitants. Between Hastings and Eastbourne, Bexhill-on-Sea is located one mile from Penvesey, the village where William the Conqueror accosted, to lead the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Moreover, he incendia the city during his journey to Battle. Another event, just as important for England, in 1902, was the first international rally in the country. Today, with its rather older population, the city lacks a bit of breath and dynamism. Bexhill's only real attraction is its museum of contemporary art, De La Warr Pavilion.
