Sandwich Harbour is the fourth section of the Namib-Naukluft National Park open to the public. This place, accessible by 4WD via a difficult sandy track at certain points, is simply extraordinary. Between the high dunes of the Namib and the ocean, the remains of a lagoon shelter a fresh water point where birds (pelicans, ducks, cormorants...) are concentrated. This green oasis sandwiched between the orange sand sea and the blue of the Atlantic Ocean and sky is a peaceful natural sanctuary where it is good to forget for a few hours the modern world which tends to neglect nature, its mother. The track that leads there gets lost in the immensity of the dunes beaten by the waves. On the way back, it is possible with a little luck to see the elusive brown hyena at sunset or on very cloudy days.
