Between the coast and the Gran Sasso, we visit Loreto Aprutino for its old medieval village, located in the upper part of the town. It is a small wonder not to be missed, typical with its facades of brick and white stone. It is overlooked by the Abbey of San Pietro Apostolo, which offers a beautiful view of the roofs of the village. As for handicrafts, the local ceramics are famous and a museum is dedicated to them. Also worth a visit is the oil museum, because Loreto Aprutino is known throughout Italy for its olive oil production, as evidenced by the many olive groves in the area. A nice stopover at about 30 minutes from Pescara.
