Summer and winter alike, the town attracts sports and nature lovers. Nestled in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park, in the Sangro Valley, Pescasseroli is an ideal base for discovering the flora and fauna of the park, including the famous Marsican bear. Located at an altitude of almost 1,200 meters, it is also a winter sports resort at the foot of the Ceraso and Vitelle mountains, which rise to 1,814 and 1,945 meters respectively. Walking through the historical center, especially in via della Chiesa, you will notice that the village pays homage to the philosopher Benedetto Croce, a native of the area, who lived for a time in Pescasseroli.
