Claviere is bordered by larch and fir woods and green meadows which, in winter, are transformed into ski slopes, including a superb cross-country skiing circuit. Together with the municipalities of Cesana Torinese, San Sicario, Montgenèvre, Sestrières and Sauze d'Oulx, the resort forms one of the most beautiful ski areas in the Alps and one of the largest in the world, the Via Lattea, with more than 400 kilometres of ski slopes, which are very popular both in winter and summer. The altitude and exposure guarantee truly optimal snow conditions for the ski slopes, to the delight of French and Italian holidaymakers.
