Sestriere was built from scratch in 1934 by the Agnelli family. It is the ski resort par excellence, with 400 km of downhill slopes, 69 cable cars and luxurious VIP hotels. The commune lies on the Col de Sestrières, at an altitude of 2,035 m, between the Chisone and Susa valleys, and comprises four settlements: Sestriere Colle, Sestriere Borgata, Champlas du Col and Champlas Janvier. In summer, those who prefer other sports will find a golf course, an open-air swimming pool, an artificial lake for sport fishing, and a wide range of leisure activities. Sestrières is a real paradise for holidaymakers!
