It is one of the most beautiful villages in the valley. The municipality of Cesana Torinese is located in the upper Susa Valley, at an altitude of 1,354 metres. The history of Cesana Torinese is linked to its strategic position. In fact, a Roman road on the Gallic route passed through here. In the Middle Ages, the road lost its importance but not Cesana and its strategic military location. Its history is then linked to the vicissitudes of Fort Chaberton built in 1989 and nicknamed Le Cuirassier des Nuages. This fortress, situated at an altitude of 3,130 m, overlooks the upper Dora valley and the Montgenèvre plain on the Italian side, and the Briançon basin on the French side
