Vizbegovo/Визбегово, or Vizbegu/Vizbeg in Albanian, has around 3,700 inhabitants, 71% of whom are Albanians and 16% Macedonians. The municipality lies along the Serava River, 6 km northwest of central Skopje. Bus connections: lines 18 and 118 from the central railway station.Located beyond the large military barracks of Ilinden, this village, which has been overtaken by the city, has a large section of the old Skopje aqueduct in its southern part. Vizbegovo, whose name derives from the title of "vizbey" held by the local former Ottoman governor, is of no further interest. The area around the aqueduct is itself a little sinister.
