Kučevište/Кучевиште (pronounced "koutchévichté), has around 4,100 inhabitants, of whom 58% are Macedonians and 32% Serbs. The village lies 570 m above sea level at the foot of the Skopska Crna Gora and along the Kučeviška River, 3 km northeast of Mikrovci. Bus connections: line 61 from Skopje.The largest village in Skopska Crna Gora in terms of population, Kučevište is the "capital" of the Serbs of Northern Macedonia. But as a result of a new administrative division, they are now in the minority here. They have also been dispossessed of their prestigious churches, which have come under the authority of the Macedonian Orthodox clergy.
