Gemona, 10 km south of Venzone, impresses by its location at the foot of Mount Glemina, whose crushing mass serves as a spectacular backdrop to the Duomo, built around 1300. To fully appreciate the panorama of the site, it is necessary to climb up to the medieval castle of the lords of Gemona (under restoration) from the main street, Via Giuseppe Bini. The village is the first stage of the Cammino di Sant'Antonio, a pilgrimage path leading to the Sanctuary of Saint Anthony in Padua. Hard hit by the earthquake of 1976, Gemona is an example of a city that has been able to recover intelligently, while respecting its heritage
