The small village of Akwidaa is located about 20 km west of Dixcove and Busua. This small village of 2,000 inhabitants has all the characteristics of a small traditional Ghanaian fishing port. Ahanta, the language spoken between Takoradi and Axim, is spoken here. A visit is all the more interesting as you will be very well received. You will be able to walk in a dugout canoe on the Ezile River which flows into the sea at Akwidaa or enjoy its beautiful sandy beaches. Finally the last point of interest can be its small fort, today fallen in ruin. To reach the village, it is possible to take a cab in Dixcove.
