Shama is far from being the most known exit for travelers. This small village offers a very pleasant walk between its fort and its fish market. To get there by car, drive 18 km on the main Accra-Takoradi road towards the east. The city is then located 4 km further south, at the beginning of the paved road. Coming from Accra, do not turn left at the "Shama Beach" sign, but continue to the "Shama" sign. On the eastern outskirts of the city, where the Pra River meets the ocean, you will find a fish market along a palm-fringed strip of beach every day except Tuesday.
