At the foot of the Hajjar Mountains, Al-Dhaid is the capital of the central region of Sharjah. It is an oasis in the heart of the desert at the mouth of Wadi Siji and still maintains the ancestral irrigation system called falaj. An ingenious system that allows the water contained in the aquaspheres of the mountains to be transported to the valley through a network of underground tunnels. You must go and discover on foot its palm grove where technical feats of irrigation allow strawberries to grow. One can also attend the camel races there. It is a stage city between Sharjah and the east coast (Fujairah and the Sharjah enclaves).
