Situated in the Ciomatu massif at 950 metres above sea level, Lake Sfânta Ana formed in the crater of a volcano and is the only lake of this type in Romania. Its waters are very clear. The surrounding area is particularly pleasant, the flora is abundant and the rocks borrow special shapes.Pilgrimage to Sainte Anne's honour on July 26, and the thermal cures attract many tourists on the shores of the lake (small entrance right to access them).Interesting festival on July 26 th, St. Anne's Day.Băile Tuşnad (Tusnádfürdő) is a mountain resort beautifully surrounded by forests where thermal treatments have been practised since 1890. It uses both the waters of Lake Ciucaş (transformed into a skating rink in the winter) and those of Lake Sfânta Ana. Its location in the valley of the Olt is particularly privileged, between the Massifs and Ciomatu mountains, at 650 meters above sea level. The village of Baraolt, west of Băile Tuşnad, is famous for wood crafts. It manufactures the traditional funeral posts. On the upper part of the post, the age, occupation and sex of the deceased are represented by symbols, arrows, flowers, cups or stars.Balvanyos (Bálványos). This spa resort, which is also well-known, is located on the other side of Lake Sfânta Ana, at an altitude of 900 metres. In the surroundings you can see the ruins of a fortress of the th century and the cave of Puturoasa.
