This long resort of 15,000 inhabitants is the first of many. Its location at the entrance to the valley makes it quieter and more rural than the others. Wooden houses surrounded by gardens abound. With their carved verandas, they are fine examples of valley architecture. Don't miss a visit to the small Sfântul Nicolae church, built in 1777, whose interior is entirely covered in paintings. You'll also get a taste of local folk art in the town's small museum, which displays costumes and various objects. Breaza has recently become a popular destination for wealthy Bucharest residents and expatriates alike, thanks to the opening of the Lac de Verde golf course. The course is very pleasant, surrounded by greenery and mountains.
