Slănic (pop. 5,000) is a popular little resort, with tree-lined streets, pretty houses with flower gardens, hotels and campsites, just off the road leading to the Teleajen valley. All tourist activity here revolves around the salt mined in the mines around the town. Some of the galleries have collapsed, forming small salt lakes that have become places to relax and swim, where it's easy to float! Pontoons, terraces and bars surround them.
