Nestled 6 km from Amlapura amidst rice paddies, the small village of Tirtagangga is famous for its pleasure gardens, created in 1948 by the local rajah. This site, once marked by fountains and pools, was damaged by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963. Despite this, it retains a pool and several basins where sacred water flows, offering travellers a peaceful and architecturally fascinating stroll. The surrounding landscape, with its picturesque rice paddies, is considered one of Bali's most beautiful, offering countless opportunities for hiking and walking. Local guides are available in the village to explore these wonderful landscapes. Don't forget that evenings in the Tirtagangga region are cooler than on the coast, so remember to bring warm clothing to avoid being caught unprepared.
