Amherstburg's rich history, military past, ethnic mosaic and economic development along the Detroit River make it an interesting cultural getaway. It is home to the Amherstburg Freedom Museum and its exhibits on the Underground Railroad, Black Canadian settlement and the achievements of Black North American rights and recognition. The towns of Chatham, Windsor and Lakeshore also have traces of this past.
