Michigan's fifth-largest city, Ann Arbor is young and festive, and home to the renowned University of Michigan (about a third of the population is made up of university students). Located 70 km west of Detroit, Ann Arbor is easily accessible for a day trip or more. Among its points of interest, there's of course the university, but also the gourmet, festive and commercial State Street District and the historic Kerrytown District, which is also brimming with good places to eat. In July, don't miss the Ann Arbor Art Fair, one of the largest outdoor art fairs in the United States.
