Located in the western part of the Mauricie region, the village of Saint-Paulin owes its name to Paulin de Nole, a poet and ecclesiastic who was bishop of Nole from 409 to his death. The village has an upscale inn, Le Baluchon Éco-villégiature, which is a member of the Ôrigine artisans hoteliers network. In addition to lodging, there is a health spa, relaxation and outdoor facilities, as well as two restaurants featuring regional products. This municipality is also home to one of the four highest waterfalls in the province, the Magnan Falls on the Rivière du Loup, 3 kilometres from the village on Route 349.
