This small town is well known for its college established in 1830: the Collège de l'Assomption. Many old houses line its streets and it is said to be the birthplace of the famous arrow sash, a unique hand-woven textile that is one of the historical emblems of the province (note that the arrow sash was first a Native American tradition before being passed on to the settlers). In December, a popular Christmas market is held here, the perfect opportunity to meet the region's artisans and producers, as well as to stock up on gourmet discoveries and fine craft treasures.
