Founded in 1792 on the left bank of the Richelieu River, this small village is renowned for the charm of its old houses and inns. It is ranked among the most beautiful villages in the province and is part of the Les Fleurons du Québec corporation, which recognizes the sustainable horticultural beautification efforts of municipalities. In the heart of the village, there is a heritage circuit that highlights residences dating back to the 1700s as well as its beautiful church built at the end of the 18th century. In the spring, its sugar shacks attract gourmets, including the must-see Cabane du Domaine Handfield.
