Music stores Lisbon

No big surprises: records, books, hi-fi, computers, etc., presented with the same commercial and selective sense and the attraction of the green price. You will find here a selection of books in French. Of particular note are the lively Forum spaces (in Chiado with a panoramic view of the rooftops and a small café like only here) with a rather interesting monthly programme (get the agenda!) with all those who are making the Portuguese cultural and musical news and a rather extensive ticket office for shows.

A very small shop that doesn't look like much in the middle of the large buildings of La Baixa. Certainly, it has a small stock but the whole history of fado is there as well as traditional Portuguese music and then some classical selections at low prices. It is rua do Carmo, in Chiado, that you will find its mobile branch (A Carrinha do Fado, a collection van of French brand). It is unmissable because it broadcasts fado songs all day long to anyone who wants to hear them...

A little hidden in the stairs of the Calçada do Duqe, it is a reference in vinyl. On the ascent that links Restauradores to Bairro Alto, this independent boutique has a fine selection of 33 cult tours from all over the world thanks to Vítor Nunes, a passionate fan. A good den full of classical, jazz, black music, rock (from the 1960s to the 1990s)... If you are a collector, this is THE place to go to Lisbon. You will inevitably find a rare pearl to bring back in your suitcase.

One of Lisbon's veteran independent record dealers. When you see the sign outside, you will have to go up a floor to find the store. The shop-apartment on the first floor near Largo de Camões is well equipped with vinyl. The decoration, a little sixties a little vintage, sets the mood immediately. We are offered a short journey through musical time. A lot of rock (sixties, garage, psyche, progressive...) but also soul or jazz. Iggy Pop and Franck Zappa are among the idols of the place, Hallelujah!

A DJ Shop for the Djs! Paulo Roque, his mentor, develops a good selection in techno, minimum, electro, house, disco, funk or rare groove…

Not far from the FNAC, a large and beautiful space (with refreshment bar) with a lot of choices (vinyl, CD, DVD...) new or second hand : rock music of all trends, world music, jazz... Louie Louie is present, also, in Porto, a bargain: the stock is running! Don't hesitate to ask for what you are looking for, the team will be happy to bring it to you from the North if you need it. With Carbono or Flur, one of the best record dealers in town, it's a question of quality/quantity!

In 2006, Selecta Lexo Dj of the collective Raska founded this shop. Specialist for reggae vibration and Jamaican rhythms, unique boutique of the kind of Lisbon, or even Portugal.
