"Amália" stands for Amália Rodrigues, the queen of fado, the local specialty. This tiny store doesn't look like much among the tall buildings of Baixa. You'll find all the history of Fado and traditional Portuguese music here, as well as a few classic selections at low prices. In rua do Carmo, in the Chiado district, you'll find its mobile branch (A Carrinha do Fado, a French-built vintage van), a must-see as it plays Fado all day long, to the ears of everyone.
