Some inhabitants still practice it, but the community has decided to take its future in hand, to protect and enhance this incredible natural environment and to develop an eco-responsible tourism. The opening of the national park has transformed the gold panners into tourist guides. They know the place perfectly and have a lot of things to tell! If the activity is not as intense as it used to be, the atmosphere and the kindness of the inhabitants leave an excellent memory.
