Formerly the administrative centre of Pelion, this village is the starting point for many short excursions inland. It is known for its famous olive festival in August. Its main square, full of tables lined up in the shade of trees and lined with small shops, is a meeting place for the elderly. Beyond, the tangled, narrow, pedestrianised streets are lined with pretty stone houses and wrought iron balconies. The lower part of the town, less pleasant because it is crossed by the road, also has a few shops. Below the village, at the water's edge, the beach of Raou is accessible by a path through the olive trees.
