Konitsa, on the green slopes of Trapezitsa, is a village built on the site of the ancient Konissos. Built in an amphitheatre on a slope of the Pindus, it is a starting point for visits to the Vikos National Park. From the church of Aghia Barbara, you can see the gorge of the Aoos River, which is spanned by a single-arch bridge, and Albania in the distance. Despite the beauty that surrounds it, Konitsa is not a very typical village.
