The small town of Jiji is famous for two reasons: its white wooden station built by the Japanese and its small railway line that winds through the mountains, of which it is one of the stops. The Taiwanese love this 30 km long trip through a mountainous landscape. Some damage caused by the earthquake of 21 September 1999 is still visible in places in Jiji, although most sites have since been restored. Stage on the road to the Sun Moon Lake, one can easily stay a few hours in Jiji, in order to soak up the peaceful atmosphere that reigns there. You will find a detailed city map in the station.
