Population approx. 2,700. The village was the birthplace of Benedikt Kuripečič (1490-1531), who served as translator to an Austrian emissary in Istanbul. He recounted his journey through the Balkans in his narratives, the oldest to date. When you arrive in Gornji Grad, you dream. A church - no, a cathedral - spreads its immaculate whiteness all around. Quite simply, it's the biggest church in the country! It's a pleasant little town, with a number of remarkable cultural and natural sites, all quite far apart from each other. In fact, the village is made up of numerous hamlets. A superb resort for a most soothing stay!
