The city of Las Piñas is located 12 km south of Rizal Park, 30 to 45 minutes from downtown Manila. Las Piñas is divided into three areas which are Manila Bay, Coastal Margin and Guadalupe Plateau. A former fishing village, the city is nicknamed the "Salt Bed of the Philippines" because since the 18th century, it has been known for its salt making. Then it developed around the jeepney construction business.
