Barrio, meaning neighborhood, is administratively a district of Olongapo. In reality, this seaside resort on Subic Bay is considered a small town in its own right. More modest than its neighbor, Barretto is renowned for its beaches, popular with water sports and diving enthusiasts. A number of diving centers have been set up, offering shipwreck expeditions for example. Its small market on Rizal Street offers a chance to immerse yourself in a more "rural" atmosphere. There are several hotels, bars and restaurants on the main road. Jeepneys run between the town and Olongapo.
