Known for its restless nights, Angeles still retains an American influence, more than thirty years after the withdrawal of the military and the looting of Clark Air Force Base in 1991. Night bars, clubs and cheap hotels are legion in this city nicknamed "Asia's biggest brothel" (especially on Fields Avenue, which is home to numerous brothels). You can't even call it a party town, as the atmosphere is so gloomy. We really don't recommend it, except to get to Clark airport, increasingly popular with low-cost airlines from Asia.
