Without doubt one of the most skilful encounters between land and water. Legend has it that Robert Louis Stevenson was inspired by these landscapes for Treasure Island. Seals find sanctuary here, and grey whales pass through on their southward migration. You'll love walking here: it takes around two hours to cover the entire reserve. Trail maps are available at the park entrance. Take the path along the coast from the first viewpoint, where the scenery is superb. The rocky coastline bristles with Lambert cypress trees, also known as Monterey cypress.
