This little-known park is California's oldest, dating back to 1902. It recently reopened following maintenance work. Covering 7,300 hectares, it is home to the largest concentration of redwoods on the coast south of San Francisco. Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted, as there are over 130 km of trails. Don't set off without stopping at the park office, about 15 km north of Boulder Creek on Highway 236, to pick up a map. You may come across deer, coyotes, raccoons, foxes, lynx, mountain lions and many species of birds. Enjoy the ride!
