Following the coastline along Monterey Bay, you'll reach Pacific Grove, a clean, residential town with a rich suburban feel and a line of historic Victorian homes. More than a city in its own right, it's a district of Monterey: you won't notice the change from one to the other. A stronghold of very puritanical Methodist protestants, Pacific Grove was the last city in California to legalize alcohol in 1969! The coastal landscapes are particularly beautiful... You can walk on the very romantic Lovers' Point, towards the lighthouse of Point Pinos, as well as on the beach of Asilomar.
