At an altitude of 1,147 meters, this very picturesque village of 3,600 inhabitants can boast of being the highest town in the Madonie Regional Natural Park. But it is also a small harmonious town, with a homogeneous appearance, with houses and monuments built with the same local grey-white stone. Walking through its characteristic streets, invaded by the sun's rays with the locals' chairs, you will notice its stately houses with patios, beautiful portals and wrought iron balconies. Petralia Sottana is also known for its renowned folklore group, Ballo della Cordella, which revives songs and dances of peasant origin.
