In a countryside rich in hazelnut trees, we follow the route of the mythical Targa Florio car race to Collesano (4,200 inhabitants). Only the ruins of the Norman castle remain. In the Basilica of San Pietro e San Paolo, you can admire the crucifix that dominates the church and the marble ciborium made by Donatello Gagini. Collesano is also proud of its handicraft production of terracotta objects. Every 5 years, a popular event, derived from the religious shows of the Middle Ages, is held in Collesano, called the Casazza. It retraces the life of Jesus Christ from his birth to the crucifixion and resurrection.
