Bucolic agricultural center, about 6 km north of Enna, Calascibetta takes its name from the Arabic Kalat-Scibet, which means "like a spill". It is easier to understand when you get there. Perched on a hill at 870 meters above sea level, this picturesque town has narrow streets that cascade down vertiginous staircases (be prepared to climb) that do not lack charm. Among its churches, the one of the Capuchins is the most interesting, especially for its painting of Paladino. A village that deserves a stop for its atmosphere cut off from the world, and where finally one crosses almost no tourist in spite of its historical lanes.
