The beach is narrow and extends only on one side of the island, which reduces the swimming space, and the water is not as turquoise as you would expect in the Maldives. Kandooma shares its lagoon with the small local island of Guraidhoo, which can almost be reached on foot at low tide. The area around the island is renowned for its marine protected area perfect for diving and surfing. Between March and September, waves of 2 to 3 meters attract many surfers. The island is managed by the American hotel group Holiday Inn. The services are rather unspectacular and cruelly lacking in charm. We would have liked a little more greenery in particular.
