Located on the Lebanese border, Rosh Rosh is characteristic of the caves that the waves have dug in limestone cliffs. The place is also a strategic point that was crossed from ancient times by merchant caravans and armies. At the time of the First World War, the English, with the help of thousands of workers of several nationalities, built a road for their troops. Providing superhuman efforts for one year, men forèrent tunnels in the rock, the 15 bridges along the track of the railway and built retaining walls to repel the waves. Two tunnels with a combined length of approximately 200 m were dug into the cliff and a bridge was suspended above the opening of the large cave between the two tunnels. Barely five years later, fearing a possible invasion of Israel by Lebanon, the Jewish resistance army detonated the bridge hanging over the opening.
