Highway No. 25 connects Be'er Sheva to the Arava valley via Dimona. This little tourist city is known for its proximity to the first (and only) Israeli nuclear research centre, approximately 13 km east of the city. It also houses a community of about 2 500 "Black Hebrew", African Americans from Chicago who immigrated to Israel by claiming to be of Jewish origin.
